Hotel Baia del Capo

I would like to tell you objective facts regarding this hotel: it is hotel only for seniors and you will find it hard to meet young people there. There are not any amenities for children, no playground, deep swimming pool.. The closest supermarket is 20 min walk (downhill, uphill), beach 30 min walk. There is a minibus from the hotel to the beach, but this beach is crowdy full of umbrelas. The water is crystal clear though. We did not want to stay ar overcrowded beach so we were walking 30 min to a different beach. The area around the hotel is like end of the world. No restaurants, no shops, so in the evening you have nowhete to take a walk, imagine just village with nothing to see and do except the beautiful sea and you are there. The train station is 30 min walk. The hotel bus can take you there for 3 euros each way. We were told the minibus goes to the beach every 30 min, but when we were there they changed it for once an hour in some hours. It happened we were waiting for the minubus but it did not arrive as the time was changed. Breakfast is youghurt,croissants, cheese,ham and bread, no vegetables. Dinners consists of a bufet which is pretty good and 2 courses you have to wait for the courses to be served so it means you have to wait a long time sometimes. The meals served at plates are not that good once they served us a canned cold tuna as a meal, so we rathet ate from a bufet which mainly included varieties of cooked, roasted vegetables, which were tasty but not much meat ...during the dinner water is not included you are charged extra for it but we knew about that from travel agency. Check your bill at reception continuesly as they tried to charge us for things we did not even order like a beer. Also happened that we ordered a sparkling water and a waiter brought us a still watter,we refused it, he apologized and brought the correct sparkling watter which would be ok but on the bill they charged us for both watters. If you do not give a tip to a waiter count with being served as the last table. The room was simple with no aircodatition ( you have to pay extra for it) with a high huminidy. There are a lot of moscitos in the area. The possitive was a beautiful clear sea. It depends on what you are expecting from a vacation.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights because we were attending a local wedding. We haven't spent that much time in the hotel itself and also, it was beginning of October already. However, I loved how friendly the staff was and how clean the hotel is. They have two adorable cats who live there and they have buffets for breakfast and dinner (only ate twice there though). There is a shuttle to the beach and just walking minutes to the convenience store and restaurants.

This is the 3rd time we spend our holidays at Baia del Capo hotel and our children already say that this is our second home. In fact we could say so since we spent 1 wonderful month each time :) in this special place! For me as a mother of 3 small children (one being an infant) this is a blessing: food of great quality and variety that should meet even the most demanding tastes, proximity to one of the best Italian beaches(in terms of salinity,iod concentration), kindness and professionalism of entire team, cleanliness of apartment, spotless clean towels being changed every day, good quality toiletries, very well maintained gardens, evenings with special local flavours (various themes ment to connect guests with traditional cuisine,music, wine), smell of blossoming plants, all in one make us feel special in this place and want to return as often and longer as possible. This is a place i would highly reccommend to those who enjoy subtile flavours, who prefer quality rather than commercial, it is a place where one can find own peace. The sea is amazing and different each day, landscapes of a natural beauty, it feels like time has stopped here and people can still enjoy life in a simple, but healthy manner. Not to mention about special dinners such as the Calabrian one or Cena di Gala - sublime, we felt and were treated like king and queen. And every single guest seemed to feel alike! This is by far the very best place we visited and surely will return every year since it became our second home!!

6 of us stayed for a week in this hotel where, despite the negative reviews, we felt at home and spent a holiday beyond expectations. Excellent welcome from the owner and her daughter Altea. Very kind and efficient staff, in particular the waitresses Angela, Lucia and Nauel and the very sweet Alina, the maitre Antonio and the legendary Vincenzo who accompanied us to the beach every morning. Comfortable rooms with very comfortable beds and excellent cleanliness. The buffet is excellent, with traditional Calabrian dishes, homemade desserts and quantities that avoid waste (an aspect that is often underestimated). Every evening we found a rich entertainment program capable of involving, bringing together and socializing all the hotel guests. The karaoke evening which ended with a dip in the pool with your clothes on was particularly fun. Sea indescribable for its beauty. Excellent value for money, we will definitely return.
